What sustainable festivals are on in Adelaide?

Sustainability is a core part of who we are at SUHO. To celebrate that, we’re trying something new to highlight and support local events who emphasise sustainability and environmentally-conscious practices.

MARCH 11: CLIMATE CRISIS AND THE ARTS!

This FREE event is part of 2022’s Adelaide Festival lineup and is located in the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Gardens, Adelaide CBD. How does creativity and sustainability connect? Featuring a discussion on net zero festivals to how we can creatively respond to climate change. We recommend looking at the lineup of activities they have for the day to learn more about how to champion climate change.

You can find more information here.

MARCH 11-14: WOMADELAIDE 2022

WOMADelaide is a 4 day festival which happens every year in Adelaide which showcases artists from over 30+ countries! As well as an opportunity to delve into Australian music and cultural education, WOMAD prides themselves on being a green event. An incredible 97.7% of all festival waste is diverted from landfill with the aim to eventually be a completely zero-waste-to-landfill event. You can read more about their Green + Global initiative here.

You can also check out their lineup of artists for 2022 here.

MARCH 20: URAIDLA SUSTAINABILITY FAIR

We highly recommend a trip to Uraidla, a beautiful small town located in the Adelaide Hills. Why not use their Sustainability Fair on Sunday March 20th as an excuse to visit soon? From local produce to sustainable & ethical fashion… and all things sustainable - there’s something for everyone! Get your tickets here.

We also recommend visiting the multi award winning Uraidla Hotel and cafe, a wonderful establishment who focus on local produce and up-cycling pre-loved items and furniture - we think their food and drinks deserve a 10/10 as well! Let us know what you think in the comments below or update us on other sustainable brands or events to highlight. Happy adventures everyone.
